“St Pancras International” what happened to the customer experience ?

Sorry this is a bit of a personal rant but what a shambles St Pancras International is.  Waiting for my returning wife and three young children in the main concourse is not a pleasant experience bordering on the farcical.
The arrival area is next to impossible to find. I spent 1/2 hour walking around the station. I did not realise it was a small set of doors leading straight into the main concourse without any segregation from shoppers or passengers for the mainline station. It is like waiting in Oxford street.
For anyone arriving for the first time the experience is confusing and unsettling. My family arrived into a sea of people walking along the concourse,  which almost knocked my daughter over. Watching people arrive, try to orientate themselves for a second and  be jostled by the moving crowd is hardly the most warm of welcomes.
The service is designed around shopping rather than departing and arriving. Arriving at St Pancras should embue the passenger with a sense of wonderment and tranquility  that matches the station. Looks great though.
